Schedule for this Chateaux Art holiday in France’s Loire Valley:

Day 1: Arrival day. Meeting at the accommodation. Welcome with wine. Introduction to the painting holiday.

Day 2: In the morning, each guest will have individual time with the tutor to discuss artistic expectations and techniques. Lunch at the accommodation. The afternoon will be spent painting at the gorgeous CHÂTEAU DE VILLANDRY. A visit inside the castle will end this sumptuous day.

Day 3: Breakfast. Day spent resting and painting at the villa. This will give everyone a good opportunity to finish off Villandry château painting(s). There will also be still-life subjects for those who wish to paint those. Lunch at the accommodation.

Day 4: Breakfast. Morning painting at the accommodation. Lunch there. Afternoon painting in the peaceful surroundings of charming CHATEAU DE L’ISLETTE (below). Visit of the inside of the castle.

Day 5: Breakfast. Morning painting at the accommodation. Lunch there. We will then spend the afternoon painting at the fabulous CHÂTEAU D’AZAY-LE-RIDEAU and finish our day with a visit inside the castle.

Day 6: Breakfast. The day will be spent resting and painting at the accommodation with lunch there. There will be plenty to do; finish off châteaux paintings, start a new still-life or paint botanical subjects.

Day 7: Morning painting at the accommodation. Lunch. Afternoon excursion to CHÂTEAU DE CHENONCEAU (below). This castle’s beauty is sure to thrill you as an artist. We will spend the afternoon painting this marvel. In the evening, we will have our little art show at the accommodation with wine and snacks!

Day 8: Breakfast and departure. Goodbyes.

Mobility Rating: If you are generally relatively fit, you can skip this part.

Test: I can walk 20 minutes and climb one or two flight of stairs without it being strenuous.

If staying longer, we recommend the following chateaux for you to visit: Château de Chambord, Chateau d’Amboise (you will see Leornardo Da Vinci’s tombstone in its little church), Le Clos Lucé (where Leornardo Da Vinci lived part of his life).
